Jamie Duggan

Child & Adolescent Psychologist

I work with adolescents, young adults, and parents navigating anxiety, depression, body image concerns, self-esteem, emotion regulation, and relationship challenges. My approach integrates CBT, DBT skills, ACT, and mind-body practices, grounded in empathy, collaboration, and evidence-based care. With over a decade of experience across hospitals, schools, and private clinics in Montréal, along with a PhD in School and Applied Child Psychology and yoga teacher training, I aim to support clients in building resilience, emotional awareness, and lasting well-being.

How I Can Help

I work with clients ages 12 to 23.

Psychological Support for Academic Transitions

As a psychologist, I provide specialized support for students navigating the transition to high school, CEGEP and university. These periods often bring academic pressures, social adjustments, and increased independence, which can heighten stress, anxiety, and self-doubt. Sessions can provide:

  • Individual Support: Evidence-based strategies to manage anxiety, develop self-regulation skills, and foster autonomy and resilience.
  • Strategic Guidance: Practical tools for managing workload, coping with performance pressures, and strengthening executive functioning.
  • Advocacy and Guidance: Collaboration with families, faculty, and student services to ensure students have access to the resources and accommodations needed for success.
Psychological Services

A 50-minute individual session with a licensed psychologist offers evidence-based mental-health support in a safe, confidential setting. Sessions focus on helping clients understand their emotions, strengthen coping skills, and navigate challenges with clarity and resilience. Using developmentally informed, empirically supported approaches, psychological services help clients ages 12–23 build insight, confidence, and long-term well-being.

Assessments

A psychological assessment provides a structured, in-depth understanding of a client’s cognitive, emotional, academic, or behavioural functioning. Through standardized tools, interviews, and clinical observation, the psychologist identifies strengths, areas of difficulty, and patterns that may impact daily life or learning. Assessments offer clear recommendations, individualized strategies, and guidance for school supports, accommodations, and treatment planning.

Parental Consultation

Parent consultations offer caregivers direct access to a licensed psychologist for guidance, clarity, and support. These sessions help parents understand their child’s needs, strengthen communication, and learn evidence-based strategies for managing emotional, behavioural, or academic challenges. Consultations may also include collaboration with teachers, schools, and professionals to ensure cohesive support across environments.
